We are about to complete Week 21 of the season. With only 3 weeks to go before we begin SUPER BRAWL IV, the rankings are shaping up to crown our 16th Grand Champion of the SFCCL. I just added the SUPER BRAWL IV brackets to the SBIV page as well as the Gold Bracket below. The bracket is a basic 16-figther setup with the lowest seed having the easiest path to the finals as a reward for claiming the top spot after a long season. For example. the #1 seed in the Gold Bracket would have to face the #8 and #4 fighters in their respective division to reach the Final Four of the tournament. In comparision, the #2 fighter would have to fight the #7 and #3 ranked figthers to reach the Final Four (providing of course all the lower ranked fighters win their matches). The Silver (#9 to #16 rankings) and Bronze (#17 to #24) brackets are also posted on the SBIV page.
I do plan to have a time table for each round of matches to be completed in order to keep the tournaments moving forward so we can end the season by year's end. This should not be a problem for the Gold and Silver brackets as I expect those tournaments to play themselves out quickly based on conversations I've had around the league. Also, these two tournaments will be filled with the most active members. The Bronze tournament may be a different story in case there are a lot of no-shows. Any member not communicating with me and other members when SUPER BRAWL IV begins will have their matches forfeited. So be ready to play!
These final 3 weeks should also be used 'strategically'. What I mean by that is everyone should play close attention to where your fighters are ranked in each division. If your figthers appear to be advancing to one of the SUPER BRAWL IV tournaments, the brackets now posted on the SBIV page will give you an idea of who you will be playing in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Final rounds. Take the next couple of weeks to earn more wins in order to change your ranking and earn an easier path to the Championship of your tournament. Possibly there are certain fighers or matchups you would like to avoid for your main fighter? Perhaps there are other members that have bad connections (lag) when you played them during season and you prefer not to play them again if you don't have to? Winning these types of tournaments is partly about your seeding. Now is your chance to change it before it is too late! Keep an eye on the division standings (I try to update everyday if possible).
For those of you wanting to play but claim to not be able to contact anyone to play, be sure look at the MATCH RESULTS chart below. I've posted these results (all 786) throughout the season in these Weekly Roundups. They were posted for two reasons. First, to show everyone who won matches in the past week. Second, and more importantly, it also shows who is playing SFCCL matches in the past week. This gives everyone the basic info of who to contact if you are looking to play your matches. If they appear on the list, then they are most likely looking to play their matches as much as you are. So look who is playing and contact them. I have not heard from any current member who wishes to forfiet their season so everyone is game. (FYI - GuurenLagen should be back in action next week for anyone who hasn't played him yet)
Final reminder for FALL BRAWL III is this Sunday! The live event begins at 3 PM Central sharp (4 PM Eastern / 1 PM Pacific). This is the final live tournament of the season and the final chance for members to earn an additional 'WiN' for each of their fighters in the standings. That extra 'WIN' could be the difference in winning or losing at SUPER BRAWL IV. Also, as mentioned in last week's Roundup, this event will be open to all members, including past winners DRPEPPER, KILLA_KITANA, HURSH, and SKRFACE & RAMMACRICKET. This event is the simplest of all the events as it be played using the Tournament Mode online featuring the random matchups. First member to win 3 tournaments wins the event. All matches will be 3rounds max. Additional lobbies will be opened if more than 8 members participate. First 8 members to win a tournament in the qualifying lobbies advance to the Final Lobby. I will be hosting the Final Lobby and recording all the matches.
Until next time...good luck!
