For some, that week can't go fast enough. I would put myself in that group now. Why? SImple. No matches were played this past week. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.
That is the first time that has happened all season long. Even in slow weeks, a few matches would be played. However, with no league matches being played, we've come to the obviously end of the season. Either all of the matches between members who are still playing have already been played or we got a lot of hanger-ons. Some members are still trying to play their matches (like CAPITOLC - please contact him if you haven't played yet), but many members seem to have disappeared completely while others go without the courtesy of replying to messages. No names necessary here but you who you are. Remember, only wins count in the standings. Playing mroe matches gives everyone a chance to earn more wins. So even if you lose, you most liekly will not drop in the standings unless you are tied with other figthers with same number of wins. Then, as a tie-breaker, winning percentage matters in terms of ranking. Any drop int he standings would be only one or two spots at most.
Fortunately, I am ready to end the season and begin SUPER BRAWL IV. In an effort to continue to serve those members still playing or wanting to play, I will send out a PSN message and an email to all 'active' members to confirm they will play their matches in SUPER BRAWL, if they qualified. If I don't receive a reply within one week (the end of the regular season), then I will forfeit their matches in SUPER BRAWL. Consider this a 'Roll Call'. Who is still here until the end? I do this only to be sure the remaining members actually have someone to play in the end-of-season tournament. It's frustrating to lose a match, but even more frustrating is playing someone who isn't there. If anyone else wishes to forfeit their season now, I will make the appropriate changes to their schedules. Just let me know.
The season started with so much promose and grew to include more members than I thought was possible. We originally began with 22 members, two more than I expected. Since then, the league expanded to include more than 40 members. And now, after a long season, it is time to close the season in pure SFCCL style. The tournaments are designed to have great matches each round. The matches should be hard fought and most likely come down to the final round. This gives everyone a fair chance of winning their tournament if they play their best. Play smart. Play tough. And most importantly, just PLAY!
Look for my PSN message and email coming by the end of the day. Please reply if you are committed to end the season. Until then......good luck!
