Two Season Rule Changes
With the end of the season fast approaching, there are two rules I am going to change.
First, any unplayed matches will remain open at the end of the season (for both Americas and European Regions). Originally, I was going to forfeit any open matches at season’s end, but that could be a lot of matches. Simply put - why should I waste my time closing all those matches when obviously the members involved didn’t take the time to play them? If they didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t play, then why waste anymore time with those matches? Forfeiting those matches and giving a single “win” to someone who didn’t actually play diminishes the wins & effort put in my other members who did play & win. I’ve done my absolute best trying to fill this league with people who claimed they wanted to play in this league. In the end, I can’t force them to play. But I can take a fair approach on how to handle these members.
Second, with the anticipation of so many unplayed matches, the final seedings for Super Brawl III will also be changed. Currently, I have the top 8 seedings labeled in all of the division standings. These seedings are ranked in terms of the most wins. Every one of those wins represents an actual victory in a league match in the Americas Region. I can’t say this for the European Region because I did forfeit one member’s matches when I couldn’t fill his spot after he dropped out. Outside of those 14 “wins”, all other matches are 100% valid. Again, this change is meant to reward those members that did play their matches. The Western Conference is the only part of the league to have 2 members play all of their scheduled matches. There are 3 more members that only have 1 match remaining on their schedules, including myself. Unfortunately, these 5 members are the exception to the league, not the standard. Therefore, the rankings in the tournament will be based on the highest number of wins. To make the season-ending tournament, be sure to have your fighter rank among the top 8 in wins in your respective division.
I will be adding countdown timers to help everyone see the deadline approaching for the end of the regular season. Please keep playing and sending me your results. If you see any problems with the results, let me know ASAP.
I hope everyone can see my logic in making these two necessary changes. I look forward to the end of the season, and the upcoming Super Brawl III tournament. I will post an official announcement regarding season four on Friday, October 28th, 2011.
Good luck to everyone.
