The season is off to a great start so far, especially in the Western Conference. The East and European divisions are beginning to pick up, but trail the West in terms of matches played. So far, 88 of the possible 210 matches in the Western Conference have been played, which is 42%. In contrast, the Eastern Conference has only played 7% and the European Region with only 3%. Still plenty of time to go, but below are some of the basic numbers to judge how you are doing so far this season:
Western Conference:
Average matches per fighter: 3 matches
Average match per member: 6 matches
Completed matches (%): 88 matches (42%)
Eastern Conference:
Average matches per fighter: less than 1 match
Average match per member: 1 match
Completed matches (%): 15 matches (7%)
European Region:
Average matches per fighter: less than 1 match
Average match per member: less than 1 match
Completed matches (%): 6 matches (3%)
Compare your matches to these numbers to determine if you are above, below, or average so far.
NEW MEMBERS:
In my original rules for this season, I mentioned no new members would be allowed to join once the season began due to the problems it would create. One thing I failed to mentioned on purpose (out of hope it wouldn't happen) is that a new member coould join under one cirmcumstance: a current member goes missing or drops out without playing a single match. For 3 members, that exact thing has happened.
Two members in the Americas Region and one member in the European Region will be replaced with players that signed up for this season but did not make the final roster. In the Western Conference, UNDERSCOREBLANK from California is being dropped from the league. After numerour emails and his inactivity on the PSN for over 3 weeks, it is clear that he isn't going to be a part of this season. In the Eastern Conference, a veteran member CCINOONE has decided to drop out due to his schedule. He will sorely be missed as a skilled competitor and committed member. In the European Region, BL1NK-_ from England has also decided to drop out.
Their 3 spots in their respective regions will be offered to 3 players who expressed interest in joining the season after the original 45 spots were locked in for season 3. Since I would much rather prefer to have 45 active members and no automatic forfeits this season, and since all 3 members leaving had not played one match this season, their spots in the league will be available to the players on the Waiting List. All the players invited will fill their vacancies in the their respective regions (West, East, and European), so we can maintain the current number of players in each region. Once I get a confirmation from the invited players, I will simply swap in their names on the Database, Schedules, and Standings. They can then begin to play their matches.
They will lose the couple of weeks we've all had since the beginning of the season, but still have plenty of time to play their matches (15 weeks remaining in the Americas Region / 17 weeks in the European Region to meet up with 14 opponents). AS soon as the 3 spots are confirmed, I will post another blog announcing their arrival.
Good luck!
