As per my last blog on Friday, yesterday was the deadline for certain members to contact me to verify their interest in playing the rest of the season. Of the 7 members contacted, only one replied to my messages, LEAHCIM-1V1. The other six members have either been removed from the league or have had their unplayed matches forfeited.
GUY_USER and DIVEKICKSTAR has not played a single match this season. Neither member had contacted me over the past couple of weeks (if not all season). Also, neither players had not been online for the past month, if not longer. Therefore, both players have been removed from the league. Since they had not played any matches, there was no need to forfeit their matches.
Fortunately, two new members have joined the SFCCL and literally have taken their places. XERODGX is from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and a friend of former Grand Champion Fran_Gil. His main fighter is Akuma while his secondary fighter is Seth. His fighters now appears on everybody's schedule as match #29, the spot formerly held by DiveKickStar. TEAMEMPORERD is from California and was referred to the league by current member TeamEmporerA. Both hail from California. New member TeamEmporerD's main figher is Balrog and his secondary fighter is also Seth. His two fighters will appear on every fighter's schedules as match #8, the spot formerly held by Guy_User.
But that's not all the 'house cleaning' that had to be done.
SAM95DKM and CHAOS_KIWI both contacted me to let me know they no longer wanted to play this season. Instead of having other members contact them to play their league matches, I've decided to forfeit all of their remaining unplayed matches and close out their schedules. Any played matches will still have the results honored as I don't want to throw out any real results. However, the remaining unplayed matches are forfeited to the other member. Depending if you played CHAOS or SAM this season, every member's fighter could have received up to 2 free wins.
Finally, two more members have had their seasons forfeited. Prior to taking this action, I did attempt to contact ZENSEM and YBF47 (formerly Dadre87) to determine if they were still interested in playing this season. Both members had deleted me from their PSN Friends List, which is a violation of the league rules. This rule is a conveniencent but necessary rule at my request due to the communication I need to make with every member throughtout the season but especially during live events. While I have to keep all 38 members on my Friends List, members are only required to have my screen name. Neither player acknowledged my emails or messages over the past month. As a result of my still-pending Friends Request, all of their remaining unplayed matches have also been forfeited. Similar to CHAOS and SAM above, they did manage to play a couple of matches so those results remain as part of the league. However, the remaining unplayed matches have been forfeited to the other member. Again, depending if you played YFB47 or ZENSEM this season, your fighters may have received another 2 free wins per fighter as a result of their forfeits.
Overall, most fighters received 4 free wins per fighter (8 wins total). Some may have only received 2 to 3 wins per fighter (4 to 6 total) if they actually played these members. As a result of all these forfeits, the total number of matches complete went from 324 to 584. Since matches had to be forfeited between these 4 members, I did take the time to determine which departing fighter received a 'win' to close out their schedules. The order was determined based on total number of matches played prior to forfeiting the season:
1. Sam95dkm (12 matches played)
2. Yfb47 (6 matches played)
3. Chaos_Kiwi (4 matches played)
4. Zensem (2 matches played)
The two new members joining this week (XERODGX and TEAMEMPORERD) also received these free wins, so each of their fighters have started with a (4-0) record. As noted dow below, the forfeited members will eventually fall to the bottom of the rankings as a result of the forfeits. Only Sam's Ryu in the A Division occupies a tournament spot, but that soon will fall once one of the ten fighters with 4-wins gains another victory. Of course, due to the forfeits, the number of wins to reach the Gold rankings is now 12 in the A Division and 13 wins in the B Division.
This is the final week any new members will be added to the league. With only 10 weeks remaining, XERODGX and TEAMEMPORERD will be challenged to earn the necessary wins to reach the Gold rankings. Hopefully, with this bit fo 'house cleaning', the league will run more smoothly now that we have 34 active members. Below are the latest updates to the schedules, division standings, and match log as a result of the 'house cleaning'.
Good luck to all remaining members!
