The rules for the event are quite simple. It is based on the original WWF pay-per-view event by the same name. Every participating member will have their own 4-fighter team. Each team must be made up of 4 different fighters (no 4 Ryu character teams). All 35 characters are available to every member. Each member's team will be matched up against another member's team to play in an elimination style match. Each member will select their first fighter and play in a 3-round match. The losing member then chooses their 2nd fighter while the winning member must continue to play as the same character until defeated. Victory can only be achieved when a team's 4 fighters have been defeated. This will be a double-elimination tournament so expect a long nite if we have many members playing. A member can change the order of their fighters and their team's fighters each round of the tournament.
The basic strategy for Survivor Series is how you order your team's fighter. Do you want to begin with your 2 strongest fighters first in order to gain an early advantage? Do you want to place your strongest fighters in the final 2 spots on your team? Or do you mixup the order each time? No matter the outcome of your battle, this strategy comes into play as you get ready to play your next match and your next opponent's team.
Prize Matches will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place finishers. 1st Place will earn a member the right to challenge any fighter in the league for their ranking. 2nd Place will earn a member the right to challenge any fighter in the next highest division for their ranking. 3rd Place will earn a member the right to challenge any fighter in the same division for their ranking. These are the same Prize Matches awarded for the War Games event.
We will virtually 'meet up' in HOME prior to the event, most likely in the Gamer's Lounge again. There, we can discuss the rules more and also announce the matchups. This event is open to all active members of the league. For the Euro Region members who cannot join the U.S. Home servers, they will be invited to play & I will keep them updated via PSN messages. Since this is a live event, all members wanting to participate in the even must be online at the time of the event listed above. I will then send an invite to all member to join me in HOME so we can get organized. SSF4 can then be launched directly out of HOME. So get your HOME avatar ready!
Hopefully, with the event still over two weeks away, this date change will not be any problem. Make your plans now to attend the 2nd official event of the season......SURVIVOR SERIES!
