Week 5 Inter-Divisional Match are now history. I believe fun was had by all......perhaps not for the losing fighters tho. Nonetheless, the inter-divisional matches always provide for some great matchups and offer the opportunity for fighters to enter a new division. Below is a listing of each division record in last week's inter-divisional matches:
Gold Division vs. Silver Division: 13-2-1 (one match ended in a double-forfeit)
Bronze Division vs. A Division: 6-8-2 (one match ended in a double-forfeit & one in a draw)
B Division vs. C Division: 10-6
Red Division vs. Blue Division: 10-5-1 (one match ended in a draw)
Congratulations to all fighters who won their match and moved up into a higher division. And good luck as the level of competition gets tougher. Just a reminder that we will hold inter-divisional matches every five weeks this season. The rotation will change every other time as well. In Week 10, the Silver Division will battle the Bronze Division, and so forth.
Overall, 81% of the scheduled matches were completed, which is the 3rd highest percentage this season. Thanx again for everyone's continued excitement and commitment for those that did play your matches. I am very appreciative of everyone's committment to playing their matches.
WEEK 5 RECAP
A total of 12 matches had to be decided to close Week 5. Eight of those twelve matches were forfeits, which occurs when one member does not play their 2 matches. Two matches ended up in a "Draw" as a result of two members unable to play one of their matches. Finally, the two other matches ended in a Double-Forfeits. Below are the final stats:
Completed matches: 52 out 64 (81%)
Forfeited matches: 8 out of 64 (13%)
Draw matches: 2 out of 64 (3%)
Double Forfeit matches: 2 out of 64 (3%)
OLD, NEW, & CHANGING MEMBERS
A total of 7 members left the league following Week5. Three members voluntarily left (SFGodfather, Jamted12, & OceanicMidnight). I wish them all the best and thank them for the courtesy of letting me know. Four more members were kicked out of the league due to inactivity (Nova979, Hollowman1288, Kurokiba13, & Cry1ng_W01F_). The last two members were still under the 3-week probationary period for new members.
As a result, we have 7 new members/14 new fighters in the league (6 in the Americas Region, 1 in the Euro Region):
New Members for the Americas Region:
BROOKLYNESE (Maryland)
CHIDORIDILLON (Minnesota)
JJ_KING_ (Iowa)
JONNITTI (New Jersey)
NEVER1NOTHING (Massachusetts)
SLINGSHOTJONES (Virginia)
New Members for the European Region:
SABISHIIRYUU (Finland)
All 7 members were invited to join the active roster from the Waiting List. A PSN message was sent on Saturday, September 4th, asking all Waiting List members if they were ready to join. The first 7 players (6 for the Americas & 1 for the European Region) to respond were accepted. Welcome to the SFCCL.
Six members changed one of their fighters:
Kcilick ROSE
Ryukenishida M. BISON
SlxSoldier AKUMA
CorridorsOfTime SETH
Klesk_1 DUDLEY
Shindubhe CAMMY
Any member in the league can change their fighter, but it will result in a penalty of the new fighter dropping one division and starting at the #15 ranking.
The following 'Auto-Promotions' occurred as a result of openings were as a result of the above activity (note - depending on where the vacant spot is in the division, not all fighters take advantage of the auto-promotions):
GOLD Division: 1 spots
SILVER Division: 3 spots
BRONZE Division: 4 spot
A Division: 6 spots
B Division: 6 spots
C Division: 14 spots
Red Division: 0 spots
Blue Division: 2 spots
Any fighters that did not play their matches do not benefit and could see other fighters jump them in the rankings. It pays to play.
THE WAITING LISTS
There was a time during Week 5 where I could no longer send a Friend Request to a player on the Waiting List as I had reached the 100 Friend limit on the PSN. After reviewing the Waiting List, I was able to remove some older players on my Friends List that had not been online in a while, and thus, wouldn't be joining anytime soon. If you no longer see your name on the Waiting List, please signup again if you are still interested in joining the SFCCL.
One thing I will change going forward is making a 'reservation' for a member who wants to join, but isn't online soon enough after the invites are sent out for possibly openings. If a player is serious about joining, then I will move their name to the top of the list and 'pencil-in' their name for the next opening. They will have to confirm they are ready to join prior to the week starting, however. I will send the player a PSN message to confirm their reservation and keep them updated for any openings. So far, we've had opening every week this season. A lot of turnover, unofortunately.
To all active members: be sure to play your matches every week so you don't get dropped from the league. I can attest to the fact that there are plenty of players on the Waiting List dying to get into the league and take your spot if you don't want it.
Again, no plan for another Free-For-All event as I like the number of members and divisions currently.
MATCH OF THE WEEK:
Euro Red Division Championship
Champion ORKANMUOH23 DHALSIM (5-0) vs. #1 Contender HEDR1984 VEGA (4-0)
This week's MOTW is the first-ever for the Euro Region. The first-ever and current Euro Champion, Orakanmuoh23 DHALSIM (5-0), battles #1 Contender Hedr1984 VEGA (4-0). Both of these fighters quickly rose to the top of the Euro Divisions in Week 4, and have been on a collison course sicne the creation of the Euro Divisions. Both fighters defended their spots in the Red Division last week. Orkanmuoh's DHALSIM has defended the Red Division Championship since the creation of the Red Division, and is one of the few remaining undefeated fighters this season. He joined the SFCCL back in Week 18 of the first season and hails from Germany. Hedr1984 joined the league back in Week 2 of this season following his play in the Free-For-All, and is our only member from Poland. Both members hold the #1 spot for each specific character in Battle Points online. Finally, both members will most likely be on the Euro Team in the upcoming Ryder Cup competition.
