The Americas Region is about to complete Week 8 of the season. We are nearly halfway thru the 18-week season (44% complete), and the Western Conference still has a big lead on Eastern Conference in matches played. Thus far, both the A & B Divisions of the Western Conference have played 63 of their 105 matches each, respectively. Overall, 60% of the matches are complete which is ahead of the 44% of the season mark. In contrast, the Eastern Conference is still struggling to play their matches. As of today, 12% of the matches have been played in the A Division, while the B Division is only slightly better at 14%. Overall, only 13% of the matches have been played with 44% of the season complete. I hate to be a pest, but I will send another reminder to all members (especially in the East) to keep playing their matches. Below are the average numbers per fighter and per member:
THRU WEEK 8 (SEPTEMBER 9, 2011)

The European Region is also doing very well. Since the European Region began two weeks after the Americas Region, there will be two extra weeks tacked on at the end of the season. As of today, 33% of the season has passed. The A & B Divisions are trailing slightly behind the season complete percentage. The A Division has 26 matches complete (25% complete) while the B Division has played 25 matches (24% complete). Overall, 24% of the matches are complete which is behind the 33% of the season complete mark. I'll include the European members in my reminder email to keep playing their matches. Below are the average numbers per fighter and per member:

Next week brings our second live event of season 3, the 2vs2 TOURNAMENT. I will be hosting the 2vs2 TOURNAMENT on Sunday, September 18th, 2011, at 10:00 AM Central Time (11 AM Eastern Time / 8 AM Pacific Time / 4 PM London). This time is meant to be convenient for our European Region.
Similar to the WAR GAMES event earlier this season, the events this year take advantage of the online modes. For this event, we will use the Team Battle mode. All participating members will be grouped randomly in 2-member teams. A random pairing of teams should give everyone a chance to win. Even if you are not one of the most skilled members (like Epedemicc), you still have a chance to be teamed up with a stronger member (like myself), and therefore, still have a chance to win! In all seriousness, this allows everyone a fair chance.
In case we don't have an even number of teams, one member may have to compose his own team. For the team pairings, the teams will be assembled in a first-come, first-serve. I will keep a roster of all participating members, and the teams will be assembled based on who confirms their participation at the time. All matches will be 2-round matches for the double-elimination tournament. These rules should give everyone plenty of action without taking too much of everyone's time. Once a team is eliminated, the members are free to go. Just be online at the time listed above and I will send you a PSN message confirming if you want to play.
Just like the WAR GAMES event, the final two teams will be rewarded with additional wins for their fighters this season. The 1st Place team's members will both be awarded an additional "Win" for each of their 2 fighters in the standings. The 2nd Place team will be awarded one additional "Win" for one of their fighters (their choice).
Good luck! Hope to have a strong turnout.
