We ended up with a perfect number of members (64) to begin this tournament. Previously, I thought we would have more, so I came up with the play-in 1st round in order to have balanced, 128-fighters in the second round. However, since we are already at 128 fighters with 64 members, the 2nd round now becomes the 1st round of the tournament. With 64 matches in the 1st round, I thoroughly expect to have the same level of completion of matches as our usual weekly schedule. However, I will be a bit more aggressive in contacting members to play their matches. Unlike the weekly schedule, there is no next week if you lose. Also, there is no next week for anyone that does not play their matches. To advance to the 2nd round and beyond, you must win your matches. No more ‘Draws’. The only exception that I will make for no-shows this round is if it appears that one member is trying to contact their opponent with no success, then he/she may be given the victory via forfeit by their opponent for not responding. However, that will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Any correspondence relating to two members claiming they can’t ever be online together will not be enough anymore. Both fighters will, thus, forfeit their match. The next round opponent will benefit from their lack of commitment by receiving a bye in the next round.
This SUPER BRAWL tournament is meant to accomplish a couple of things. Sure, it is meant to be a lot of fun and create one last bunch of memories for this great season we have all played in together. It is also to put on display the greatness of running an organized, competitive Street Fighter league on the PSN. But it also will crown the final SFCCL Gold Champion. Not only is that person proving himself/herself to be the best in the SFCCL, but it also will be partly recognition of someone who has committed themselves to the league, whether it was just for a few weeks or entire year. This tournament is a gauntlet – meant to eliminate the weak. That includes eliminated player that cannot meet their opponents online for 10 minutes over a 14 day period, or less. That fighter will be the only fighter to end their season with a victory - a victory on a many different scales. And I will be there to gladly and proudly salute them.
Good luck to all members.
The SUPER BRAWL final rankings, brackets, and matches are now posted. The deadline for round 1 is Sunday, March 21st, 2010. I will do my best to update the site with results as they come in on a daily basis from various sources. If you are advancing, feel free to play your next match in the bracket if your opponent has advanced. I will begin to post the 2nd round matches as they become available.
PREVIOUS WEEK RECAP: WEEK 25 Divisional Matches
WEEK 25 STATS:
Completed matches: 30 out of 65 (46%)

Double forfeits: 14 out of 65 (22%)

OLD & NEW MEMBERS
A total of 8 members have left the League following Week 25 (31 over the past three weeks). One member voluntarily dropped out (EnigmaMount). The other 7 members were dropped due to two weeks of forfeits. As a result of these members & their fighters being removed from the rankings, the ‘Auto Promotions’ created to fill their rankings can range from 3 spots as high as the Bronze Division to as many as 16 spots thru the E Division.
Joining the SFCCL for the SUPER BRAWL tournament are 7 new members. Please join me in welcoming the following members: Haduken3, Novalks, Matixx_, SuperGriff_2010, KazigluBey, Kangarou, & PubBasher. These new members have been added to the bottom of the rankings; however some may have been placed above some existing fighters if they forfeited their matches in Week 25.
The SFCCL is 64 members (128 fighters) strong going into SUPER BRAWL.
MATCH OF THE WEEK
None. Every match in the SUPBER BRAWL tournament is a MATCH OF THE WEEK. These matches are ‘do or die’. Lose, and your season is over. So I think everyone will be giving it their best shot. And that makes for 64 great matches.
