My combined record for the regular season was 14 wins and 14 losses with Fei Long & Ken. A perfect .500 season. Further analysis showed me defeating the same members in both matches, and also losing both matches to the same members with the exception of two (Doctor_Rouse & Welcome2Troyland). We split victories in our matches. The above schedules for Fei Long and Ken list my wins (in blue) and my losses (in red). The yellow highlighted matches are the splits.
Off to the right of the schedules are more details about my wins & losses. For example, with my main fighter, Ken, I won 3 matches versus other member's main figthers, and lost 3 matches versus other member's main fighters. Against member's 2nd fighters, I had 5 wins and 3 losses, which makes sense that my main should defeat their secondary fighter. Bascially, I held my own versus other main fighters, and defeated most 2nd fighters. However, next section of statistics is even more telling. The winning percentage of my opponents in the matches I won was only 23%, while the winning percentage of my opponents who I lost to was 79%. This was bascially true with both of my characters, Fei Long or Ken. Basically, my wins came over lesser skilled opponents while my losses came to more skilled members (based on their winning percentage).
The final section of the worksheet are the combined records of all the Western Conference members for the regular season. Not surprisingly, my .500 record also put me right in the middle of the Western Conference. The members above my name (listed in red) are the matches I lost with both of my figthers. The names under my name (listed in blue) are the matches I won with both fighters. Again, the highlighted members are the matches I split.
Sorry if I lost anyone in explaining all this stuff. For a numbers guy like me, it was very interesting and confirmed my original hypothesis. I am an average SF4 player! Whoo-hoo!
I can put together a worksheet like this for anyone who is interested for their own characters. You might surprise yourself with how you played.
Be sure to join the SFCCL Group on Facebook to take part in various discussions and polls. I hope to use it to get feeback off other members as I bounce around ideas for a new season on SSFIV:AE 2012 or other SF games.
Good luck.
