Several members have inquired about when they clinch a spot in the playoffs, ala Super Brawl IV, at the end of the season. To do that calculation, I would have to create ‘Magic Number’ for every fighter. That concept is a bit hard to understand for me, a person who loves statistics and calculations. The bigger problem with applying those calculations to our standings would prove even more confusing since we are playing at different speeds. Some members have double digit number of matches played, while some have yet to play. Those wild variables will prove to really confuse everyone with ‘Magic Numbers’.
The best advice I can give is to aim for 7 or 8 wins in order to qualify for the end of season tournament. That may only get you the #7 or #8 ranking in your respective bracket, but at least you get in. The more wins you get, the higher the seed you will earn. For those that have play 10+ matches, their possible number of wins is limited compared to someone who has only played 5 matches so far. Keep looking at the division standings as your rank may change depending on your or other fighter’s wins.
Good luck. Again, welcome to all the new members joining the past couple of weeks. Hope you guys are having fun with the league.
THROUGH WEEK 11 (SEPTEMBER 29, 2011)
Since there are 18 weeks this season to play 28 matches for each member (14 matchers per fighter) to play, each member should be 1.5 matches each week. Thru Week 11, Americas Region members should have 17.1 matches complete out of 28 possibly matches. This equates to 61% of their matches complete. How are you doing?
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
Average matches complete per fighter: 3.77 matches
Average matches complete per member: 7.53 matches
Completed matches (%): 59 matches (28%) out of 210 matches
Members complete with their schedules: None
Most matches played (max 28 matches): Xenon5100 (16)
Least number of matches played (max 28 matches): LunaSlave1999 (0)
The Eastern Conference is still really slow. The slight jump in numbers this around is directly attributed to Xenon5100 (aka Skrface13) jumping into action the past couple of weeks. In just a short time, he is now played the most matches of all members in the Eastern Conference. That isn’t a good thing.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
Average matches complete per fighter: 8.67 matches
Average matches complete per member: 17.33 matches
Completed matches (%): 130 matches (62%) out of 210 matches
Members complete with their schedules: Xx_Von_xX (1st), Doctor_Rouse (2nd)
Next most number of matches played (max 28 matches): Manwithnoarms2 & Haduken3 (27 each)
Least number of matches played (max 28 matches): Feiinweltall (6)
The Western Division continues to lead regions with the most activity. Congrats to everyone for their commitment. Several members are close to finishing all of their matches, so for those who are left to play, please contact your remaining opponents to finish your matches. That being said, I have not received any match results for the Western Conference since Week 9 (two weeks ago).
EUROPEAN REGION:
THRU WEEK 9 (SEPTEMBER 29, 2011)
Since there are 18 weeks this season to play 28 matches for each member (14 matchers per fighter) to play, each member should be 1.5 matches each week. Thru Week 11, European Region members should have 14 matches complete out of 28 possible matches. This equates to 50% of your matches complete. How are you doing?
Average matches complete per fighter: 6.13 matches
Average matches complete per member: 12.27 matches
Completed matches (%): 92 matches (44%) out of 210 matches
Members complete with their schedules: Subes88 (1st), SpiritRaptor (forfeited)
Next most number of matches played (max 28 matches): Cravin456 (20)
Least number of matches played (max 28 matches): Jamheald & Perkuta (4 each)
The European Region is progressing well, but is just slightly behind the season average. Unfortunately, one member forfeited all of his matches this season since he was no longer interested in playing. I could not find a replacement European member, so in the end, all of this matches were forfeited to the other 14 members.
Good luck to all.
