Welcome to the SFCCL
"The answer lies... in the heart of battle."
Originally called the Street Fighter League, the SFCCL (Street Fighter Champions & Contenders League) was born in the forums of the Offical US PlayStation website. The current format of the SFCCL resembles an NFL or NBA league. Each members has two different fighters and are grouped by location. This allows every member to fight other members who share their general time zone and reduces the possability of lag. Every fighter has their own unique schedule of matches where each member can play at their own pace. At the end of the regular season, the top 8 fighters in each division qualify for the playoffs, or end of season tournament known as Super Brawl. The winner of the final tournament is crowned Grand Champion of the SFCCL! We also will hold special live events (2v2 tournaments, War Games, Fall Brawl tournaments) with league prizes awarded to the winners. The prizes offer a chance to improve your fighter's winning percentages during the season.
The league was originally setup for various skilled-level players separated by divisions with each division having its own champion. Weekly ranked matches allowed fighters to rise or fall in the rankings. Inter-divisional battles match up fighters from different skilled divisions in a 'winner-go-to-the-higher-division' match. These inter-divisional matches mix up the roster of fighters, allowing players to challenge new fighters as they gain experience and most likely improve their own skills. This original format was used for two full seasons before the change to the NBA style league.
All players are welcomed to join the SFCCL. But fair warning - some members like to record & post their matches on YouTube and this site (wins and loses), so be prepared to have your skills on display for the league & world to see. All you need join is a PlayStation 3, online access to the US server, and a copy of SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV: ARCADE EDITION. There is no entry fee and the entire league is free for everyone. New members may have to go on The Waiting List before joining the league. Please read the RULES & SIGNUP page for full details on how the SFCCL operates, including the results of each ranked match. At the bottom of the RULES & SIGNUP page is the application to join the SFCCL. Answer a few questions and get ready to battle some great players from across the globe.
