We've just completed our first ever inter-divisional matches. From some of the feedback I've gotten, it seems to be a very popular feature of the League. We will have the inter-divisional fights every couple of weeks giving everyone new challenges all the while "earning" their spot within the various divisions.
There are only 2 ways to change divisions. First, by winning your inter-divisional match. Second, if someone in the higher divisions drops out, we may have to add to higher divisions. We need a minimum of 10 fighters in each division. To keep that number, players will be invited to move up to the next division, including the Champion of a lower division. It's the player's choice to move or stay. If they agree, they begin at the bottom of the new division. If they decline, the next ranked fighter will be invited until all spots are filled. This, of course, has a ripple effect in the lower divisions. So it benefits a fighter to always try to be ranked as high as possible in case we have to add to a higher division.
This type of reorganization is also possible when we have a large amount of new members joining at one time. The newbies start in the BRONZE and WHITE divisions and may force the top members of those divisions to move up to SILVER, and so forth with top ranked SILVER members going to GOLD.
The SILVER division will fight the BRONZE division in a couple of weeks. GOLD and WHITE will not fight each other - they will have their normal ranked fights. The process will repeat a couple of weeks later.
Thanks again to everyone who has made this League a success so far. I've enjoyed myself emensely and have met a lot of new players who are willing to share their strategies & experiences. Good luck to everyone in their Week 5 matchups.
Remember...the faster the matches are complete, the faster we post new rankings and matches.
