7 members have left the League since Week 17. Five of those members (Eltwopee, Gingersnap666, Silvagst3, Broken_Kira, & Cyberfrost849) left voluntarily. I thank each of them for participating in the League and for their level of competition. As with all members that take the courtesy to let me know they are leaving, each of them are welcomed back anytime. The other 2 members were kicked out due to inactivity.
Due to the 7 players exiting, the 14 fighters they take with them left many opportunities for more ‘auto-promotions’. If you won your match last week and were below these members in the rankings, your fighter got an extra boost. Even if you lost your matches, you still benefited from the ‘auto-promotions’ since you still played your matches. Those members whose matches ended in a Double-Forfeit or a Draw did not benefit since they didn’t play.
A "Draw" is declared when a match is not played, and a decision cannot be made who the winner is. This most often occurs when both members have played their other match, but never completed their 2nd match. Therefore, the match is called a Draw, both fighters are rematched the following week, both fighters maintain their rankings, but do not benefit from ‘auto-promotions’. So it is very likely that other active members/fighters will jump them in the divisions & rankings as a result of playing their matches. Again, this is penalizing those uncompleted matches & awards those that do play.
WEEK 18 does bring us 4 new members (Hikodavid, DopeUyuu, Orkanmuoh23, & xxLegendKillaxx) plus 1 founding member (Niko9193). Please welcome our newest & oldest SFCCL members.
WEEK 18 also brings back the popular Inter-Divisional matches. Now, some might notice that the GOLD and G Divisions are playing in regular weekly matches. The G Division gives us an odd number of divisions, so this division plays itself. The GOLD Division benefits from being the top division, thus, unable to fight any higher divisions. The GOLD Division will only battle the Silver Division every other time. Meanwhile, all other divisions are matched up, either defending their spots or attempting to move up. Week 13 Inter-Divisional matches pitted Gold vs. Silver Divisions. This time, the Silver Division defends against the Bronze Division.
The Inter-Divisional matches offer most fighters the opportunity to change divisions. The winner of an inter-divisional match takes the rank in the higher division, while the loser of the match falls to the same rank in the lower division. This is one of the ways members/fighters can change divisions and move up quickly. The League holds inter-divisional matches every 5 weeks.
All matches are best 2 out of 3 five-round matches. Feel free to record your matches and upload them to YouTube. I will then add them to the SFCCL site.
Good luck to all this week.
DEADLINE FOR WEEK 18 MATCHES IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, 2009.
