Now, back to league business...
We are 25% done with the regular season. Have you played 25% of your matches?
We now have 36 members in the league this season. This is more than I would have ever imagined would be playing this season. I originally hoped for 20 members to begin the 4th season. We have nearly doubled that number in seven short weeks! With 36 members, each member has 35 matches with each of their fighters (70 matches total). Remember......I promised more matches this season! Today marks the beginning of the 7th week (meaning 6 weeks are in the book). If you haven't played any matches to this point, you will have to average 3.8 played matches per week to play all matches by the end of the season on Sunday, November 18th. Of course, that number can change if more members join or if have played a few matches.
Below are the latest updates around the SFCCL.
1. WEEK 6 MATCH RESULTS
Thru Week 6, 162 matches have been completed. With 36 members now in the league, a total of 1,260 matches are scheduled to be played during the regular season. Therefore, 12.9% of the matches have been played so far while 25% of the season is complete. We are falling behind the season pace so I hope more matches are played in the coming weeks.
2. WEEK 6 DIVISION STANDINGS
I've left the rankings in the proposed tournament style of Gold, Silver, and bronze tournaments in SUPER BRAWL IV. Currently, the poll over on the SFCCL Facebook Group page is 5 in favor of 3-tournaments and 4 opposed (one vote is by a former member), so it is actually 5 to 3 among current members. I have not voted as I wanted to leave it up to the current members. Go over to the Facebook group page to place your vote if you have not done so already.
In summary, the colored rankings in the division standings above indicates which tournament your fighter would advance to if the season ended today. The top 8 fighters in each division would make up the Gold/Grand tournament in SUPER BRAWL IV, while the remaining fighters would go to the Silver or Bronze tournaments, respectively. Each tournament would be 16-fighter single elimination tournament under the SUPER BRAWL IV banner. The winning fighter of the Gold/Grand tournament would be named SFCCL Grand Champion of the 4th season. The winning fighters in the Silver and Bronze tournaments would be named Silver and Bronze champions. Based on the number of wins each fighter earns, each fighter would likely be placed in a tournament of other similar skilled fighters. Don't like you rank now? Earn some more wins and move up the standings.
A decision will be made by this Friday on what the final format will be for SUPER BRAWL IV.
3. CHANGE OF FIGHTERS / NAMES
While no members changed fighters in the past week, you might notice a familiar name now on the schedules. He is not a new member tho. Xenon5100 (aka Skrface13) has created a new PSN screen name. His new name is SKRFACE_13. His name has been changed on all schedules. Be sure to send him a Friend Request on his new screen name to play your matches against him.
4. NEW MEMBERS JOINING THE SFCCL (WEEK 7)
1. CUBANILE_WL (Florida)
2. SAM95DKM (California)
As mentioned last week, another former Grand Champion of the SFCCL was rejoining the league this week. CUBANILE_WL went by the name of CUBY back in season two, and became the 11th Grand Champion in SFCCL history. He is Jay's brother and the only Ken player to become Grand Champion. SAM95DKM is a new member to the SFCCL and joined after I met him over on the SRK forums. Both members are now listed in the SCHEDULES under the Season 4 Portal. As a result of the new members, all fighters now have a total of 35 matches available to play during the regular season.
Welcome both members to the SFCCL!
5. NEXT LIVE TOURNAMENT: WAR GAMES IV
Remember, to be part of any live event, you must be online at the listed time to be invited to the event. These live events take place in one night and last a couple of hours. Based on previous seasons, WAR GAMES is one of the shorter events. All members are encouraged to gather in the SFCCL Clubhouse. Communication will be either via PSN message or Text Chat once the event is underway.
The winning member will receive additional wins for each of their fighters in the division standings. DRPEPPER20 cannot participate since he won the STARDUST Tournament earlier this month. Winners of each of the live events cannot play in future live events in order to allow more members a chance to win an event.
6. WEBSITE CHANGES
The website has been updated to reflect the two new members as well as all the match results listed above. The Player and Battle Points should be updated with the Week 7 roundup.
Until next time......good luck!
