In fact, all higher seeds have advanced in the tournament with the exception of the B Division's #4 vs. #5 matchup in both the Eastern and Western Conferences. Both #5 seeds won, which makes these matches the only upsets so far (#5 SALonghorn KEN over #4 Manwithnoarms2 ADON / #5 Crusader884 KEN over #4 Epedemicc GOUKEN). The European Region bracket is slighly skewed since no official match has taken place yet. The 5 matches completed in the 1st Round are actually forfeits by members gone missing over the months & never 'answered the bell' when the tournament started. Instead of wasting everyone's time by trying to contact these missing players, I simply forfeited the matches leaving only the European members still interested in playing alive in the tournament. Hey, as the saying goes, "you snooze...you lose." They knew the commitment when they signed up.
I will post a final Reflections blog in a few weeks. From the feedback I've received over the years, those Reflections posts seem to be quite popular. The subject matter will probably include the past, present, and future of the SFCCL. I still have an itch to play another season, but a change in the format is necessary to keep everyone interested. We'll see what happens, but I am open to all feedback.
Good luck to all fighters still alive in the tournament. To all the other members who have played their final match this season, thank you for making this season happen. Your commitment to the league has made this all possible, and I hoped you enjoyed playing this season. The results might not be to you liking, but I hope the experience was. Finally, I am posting all SUPER BRAWL III results & videos as they come in on the SFCCL Facebook page, so be sure to "Friend" me there to get all the latest news.
