My last update mentioned the only upsets were in the Americas Region B Divisions #4 vs. #5 matches. However, the final match played in the 1st Round of the Western Conference gave us our first big upset. Well, ‘big upset’ in terms of seedings. Zti890’s Cammy, who came into the tournament as the #6 seed in the B Division, defeated Xx_Von_xX’s Yun, who held the #3 seed. Despite the seedings, only 2 wins separated the two fighters during the regular season. Zti’s Cammy, a former Grand Champion last season, ended the season with a record of (8-0), with one additional win earned at War Games. Von’s Yun record was (11-5) to end the season, but he also received two additional wins earned at War Games and Fall Brawl. The fact that both members placed in the special events made the matchup one of the best in the 1st round. Officially, no matches have been played in the European Region bracket as of yet. The 7 ‘completed’ matches are actually the 7 forfeited matches. Despite the 2 week late start, both regions are now basically in the same place.
I am still working on the final Reflections blog. Well, at least still brainstorming ideas for it. Hopefully it will be posted in the next two weeks. As it appears right now, there will be no fourth season of the SFCCL. Interest, and thus participation, is really low and it feels like we are struggling just to finish this season. Some live or signup tournament events are still a possibility, but still need some work if they are going to succeed. Hope everyone enjoyed my mini-Reflections blog yesterday. Just felt compelled to record the match and comments following that hilarious match. Who knows…with no SFCCL around next year…this may become my new SF hobby! Exposing these fools for all to see! So be warned…
Good luck to all fighters still alive in the tournament. To all the other members who have played their final match this season, thank you for making this season happen. Your commitment to the league has made this all possible, and I hoped you enjoyed playing this season. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody!
