For the newer members of the league that have joined in the past month or two, just remember that the highest ranked players/fighters in the league are there partly because they have been in the League longer. As other players have dropped out or joined later, they moved up the rankings not necessarily because they won their matches. In the end, in a perfect system where no one leaves or joins, the rankings become a true reflection of skill level and accomplishments. However, I do like the fact that every division has heavy-hitters that are sometimes easily visible while also containing a few surprises. Bottom line, be patient. Some of the original members of the SFCCL have been playing since March 2009. Put your time into the League and see where you are at in 6 to 7 months.
Week 15 was an overall success, as we had less forfeited matches than the previous week. However, we did have a total of 9 double-forfeits. The reason for a double-forfeit varies. The most common reason is that neither member played their matches. Not playing both of your matches in a week will AUTOMATICALLY result in forfeiting of both matches. I understand that sometimes it can be difficult to contact your opponents, but when someone can’t contact both of their opponents, it’s more an indication that the original member is most likely not trying to play their matches. Especially if their opponents have played their other match. Of course, there are always exceptions. I’ve said it many times before & I’ll say it again here - please contact me if you are having difficulties playing your matches for any reason. That communication is important when having to "decide" matches or not being kicked out.
4 members have left the league following Week 15. Two of those members left voluntarily. The other two members were kicked out of the League for inactivity. Please remember that forfeiting both of your matches two weeks in a row results in automatically being dropped from the League. We are all here to have fun and play SF4 matches. When someone isn’t doing that, it slows everyone else down. That is why these rules are in place – to keep the League filled with players that want to play & actively play. It’s understandable that anyone can have a hard time tracing down their opponents, but "struggling" over 2 weeks is a clear indication that someone doesn't care about playing their matches. No one is required to play in this League – this is all voluntary. These rules are in place to weed out these players that don’t want to play. However, if you are unable to play but want to remain in the League, just let me know. There are exceptions to these rules.
Onto to Week 16...
Due to these exits, there were many auto-promotions to fill in the gaps for the departing 8 fighters. Depending on your ranking in a certain division, your fighter might have moved up more than usual, which could be one extra spot to as much as 8 spots. Of course, winning your regular matches moves you up even higher.
We have 10 new members joining the SFCCL for Week 16. Please welcome newcomers CrownClown-ezzz, Mad_A187, Ewang08, DBZ19, xxV1P3Rxx, Kaizerher559, DJCacara, VSRae, Rteruyas, and SFGodfather. Best of luck in your first League matches.
The F Division has been temporarily expanded to 18 fighters from the normal 16 fighter limit. This was to prevent creating a new division with only 2 fighters. I expect more players to join and dropout next week in which a new division maybe needed.
The SFCCL is 73 members (146 fighters) strong as of Week 16. There are a total of 73 matches in Week 16. Inter-Divisional matches return for Week 18.
Good luck to all fighters.
